2018 In Review | Yearly Wrap-Up
Wow, 2018 really flew by didn’t it? I feel like just yesterday was July but tomorrow is 2019. That’s crazy. Time flies when you’re having fun, right?
2018 was actually a pretty relaxed year for my business. I didn’t capture any weddings (my choice) and I got to dabble more with boudoir photography. My seniors were consistent as always, which I love. I’m happy to finally be finding my niche and focusing on the types of photography that I really want to do. Now I just need to focus on finding my favorite editing style. If you look at the pictures below from all of my sessions this year, you’ll find that my style has kind of changed and it’s not consistent yet. That’s because I’m still deciding what I like. Some sessions call for brighter pictures, others need a more moody feeling. But I always make sure my pictures look natural and aren’t completely blown out with crazy colors. That’s what I’ll focus on doing in 2019, finding MY editing style.
As for school, I’m still kicking away at it. I have six classes left in my degree for entrepreneurship. The way the scheduling will fall though, I’ll have to drag those classes out for a year, so instead of taking just those classes, I’m going to take some extra classes and get two extra certificates on top of my degree. Hopefully all of it will help me set my life up better for the future. We’ll see what happens!
Something new that I got into this year was doing some volunteer photography for groups. One being my charity that I volunteer for, A Kid Again. I will photography events for them. I also photographed an event for a group called Creative Babes. They focus on holding events that are for creatives to socialize and be around people like them. They have speakers every event that talk about their experiences and try to help everyone grow. Competition doesn’t exist when you’re at one of their events. It’s a really cool group!
Anyways, I want to say a HUGE “THANK YOU” to all of my new and returning clients that helped make my 2018 a great year. I hope that you were all happy with my services and love your pictures! Let’s make 2019 even better!
